The Nose @edfringe

Fat Gits backstage

Probably an inappropriate time to take a photo, in the midst of our rather tense (but perfectly rehearsed – in an imaginary venue that was mapped out in my Granny’s garden – “Do NOT avoid the privet bush, you MUST go around the bench, do NOT pass go, do NOT collect £200”) 5 minute get in. “The Nose” was Fat-Git Theatre‘s latest production, taken up to the Edinburgh Fringe in the final two weeks. Not before a “national tour” in at the beginning of August (in addition to the shorter run at the Birmingham Custard Factory and a home performance at the Warwick Student Arts Festival 2011) to Winchester and Beverley.

We managed to wangle some excellent reviews from the press that were roaming around the city (as well as seeing some amazing theatre up there too). Five stars from Broadway Baby and four from Edinburgh Guide, What’s On Stage and Fringe Guru – as well as a lovely report from our supporters, Ideastap. Shameless self-promotion, but look at all the lovely things that they said! Watch out for us in the future…

  • ‘this is theatre for theatre’s sake, and it’s superb’ – 5*, Broadway Baby
  • ‘carefully constructed resulting in an intelligent and funny finished product’ – 4*, What’s On Stage
  •  ‘rightly absurd and played with full conviction by the entire, talented cast’ – 4*, FringeGuru
  • ‘this is theatre to be envious of’ – Ideastap. See Ambra Vernuccio’s photos of Fat-Git on flickr

So our time spent flyering on the Royal Mile paid off! And 4 months of hard work. Looking forward to the next project, keep up with us on twitter.
